Football Association of Maldives Governance and Leadership
Maldives Football Association >
The Football Association of Maldives is the official governing body of football, futsal and beach soccer in the Maldives. Founded in 1982, the association has overseen the development and organisation of the sport for more than four decades.
The Football Association of Maldives became affiliated with the Asian Football Confederation in 1984 and with FIFA in 1986, marking its formal integration into the international football community. Since then, the association has played a central role in structuring domestic competitions, developing national teams and aligning Maldivian football with international standards.
Operating in accordance with its Statutes and the regulations of FIFA and the Asian Football Confederation, FAM is responsible for the governance of the game at all levels. Its mandate includes organising national competitions, overseeing club licensing, developing players and officials, and representing Maldivian football in regional and global forums.
Guided by a nationwide development vision, the Football Association of Maldives works to ensure that football is accessible to every island and every community, while building a sustainable foundation for the future of the game in the Maldives.
