FAM set to target the 2023/24 season of DPL to the entire Nation!

After getting elected for a 2nd Term, President of FAM, Bassam Adeel Jaleel, announces that the 2023/24 season of Dhivehi Premier League will be held in the entire nation. With this, the league will be played with home and away fixtures.
Also, Bassam announced that a Premier League board would be introduced, and this board will be handling all the related activities of the Dhivehi Premier League. At the same time, FAM’s other departments will focus on towards future projects and all kinds of developments in the football sector.
The First Division clubs from Male’ region will compete with the best team from every atoll zone in the nation. With this change, the home and away games for every team will be in favor. It is believed a lot of support and positive changes will be seen throughout the adaptation.
Before the president announced FAM, contracts were signed to develop 20 turf pitches around the Maldives, with the Korean company Sky Wind Global. With the opening of these 20 Pitches, the home and away games will be easier to take place since the turfs will be in good quality, and the spectators will also be welcomed with a spectator stand. The Korean company has a target to finish each pitch within 30 days.
To widen the league to the entire nation is a big plan, and to execute and make the project perfect, FAM’s Vice President Ali Umar and assistant coach of Men’s National Team Ali Suzain will be working. Bassam also said that the plan will be finalized shortly and will be launched as well.
